my Approach

Creating a plan that works for you.

It is important for me to integrate a collaborative approach in session. We work together to make decisions about how best to proceed with treatment and goal setting. I use evidence-based practices including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT). For couples I focus on the research from the Gottman Institute where we work through the Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I appreciate the value of therapy and its ability to gather insight during session. Creating awareness helps you understand how events in your past are negatively influencing your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Therapy will provide you with tools to work through your current stressors and prepare for potential distress in the future.
